Summer Reading Challenge

This term we have launched our summer reading challenge.

Our goal is for all children to become regular readers and to enjoy reading.

There are three targets:

  1. All pupils to real aloud to an adult for approximately 5 to 10 minutes on three occasions every week. (We will celebrate this every Friday, with stickers or certificates in our celebration assembly)
Last week Dosbarth Pilipala were the highest performing class with an amazing 24 our of 29 pupils reading to an adult on three seperate occasions during the week.
  2. Every class will have a class novel/story read to them every day in school.
  3. Children will share their class novels, in a ‘tell me all about it’ session, with other classes during ourFriday assembly.

This is a simple challenge that will make a huge difference to your child’s education.

The benefits fo reading to children as well as listening to children reading/talking about a book are internationally recognised as a significant factor in improving all aspects of education.

Together we can make a difference and your support with this challenge is very much appreciated.
