SHEP is a school-based education programme that provides food and nutrition education, physical activity, enrichment sessions and healthy meals to children. Rhondda Cynon Taf is providing a timetable of fun activities for the pupils during the programme eg Circus Skills, Glass Painting, a variety of sports and crafts.
The following schools will be offering SHEP this summer: Craig-yr-Hesg Primary, Darren Park Primary, Glenboi Primary, Hawthorn High School (pupils from Hawthorn Primary and wider Rhydyfelin area), Llanharan Primary, Mountain Ash Comprehensive School (pupils from Caegarw Primary), Penrhys Primary, Penywaun Primary, Perthcelyn Primary, Porth Community School, Tonyrefail Community School, Ynsyboeth Primary and Ysgol Nantwyn.
Ysgol Hen Felin and Ysgol Ty Coch will be offering four days to Key Stage 2 pupils, 4days to Key Stage 3 pupils and 4 days to Post-16 pupils.
The programme will be from Wednesday 21st July to Thursday 5th August 2021 from9.30am – 1.15pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Who can apply?
Parents and carers on behalf of their children who are aged 5-11 in mainstream setting.
The closing date for applications is Sunday June 27th 2021.
